Organizational Agility and the Great Resignation

This morning I was listening to a Director of Human Resources talk about her organization’s struggles to retain people, and she pointed out that while the company kept growing over the last four years, the headcount had remained the same. This was due to constant turnover. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated organization, it is more and more becoming the “new normal” that organizations are having to deal with.

Organizations are having to deal with the endless shifting of focus and priorities due to a reduction in available resources caused by the “Great Resignation,” supply chain issues, and constantly changing government regulations. This relentless fluctuating of focus has caused many employees to become victims of “Change Fatigue” which causes increased stress in employees and an amplified likelihood of attrition within the organization.

Mike Richardson, author of “Wheel$pin: The Agile Executive’s Manifesto,” says that everyday leaders must “become the Chief Triage Facilitators” and change the way people view “chaos” and their “relationship with triage.” These shifts in the way people view the change that is hitting them from all sides can reduce the perceived stress of change and therefore lower attrition within the company. Join us on May 18, 2022, to see how increased Organizational Agility can help your company combat the “Great Resignation.”
