Dale Carnegie of Orange County | Improving Leadership Effectiveness

Dale Carnegie at the Women’s Entrepreneur Lunch & Learn

The WELL was hosted by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the City of Anaheim on March 20th, 2019. This sold-out event brought together female (and male) entrepreneurs of Orange County, from all ages and industries. Among them were Geri Cerkovnik, CEO of Dale Carnegie of Orange County; John Campbell, Vice President, Executive Consultant for Dale Carnegie of Orange County – Central Region; Mandi Morgan, the Regional Vice President and Executive Consultant for Dale Carnegie Orange County South Region.

To help inspire women on their path to entrepreneurship and business success, the City of Anaheim and the Small Business Administration worked together on this event. Mandi Morgan kicked off the event with her keynote address. After that, there was a panel discussion comprised of entrepreneurs and executives representing Anaheim’s diverse business sectors.  The other participants along with Mandi included:

  • Sandra Day, CEO, Expert Coatings & Graphics
  • Renee Austin, VP of Engineering, Polaris
  • MJ Cooke Elliott, Program Director, AIME
  • Persephone Oliver, VP of Marketing, Econolite

About Mandi Morgan’s Keynote

Mandi’s interactive keynote speech was all about Developing an Entrepreneur Mindset. Firstly, she started off by asking the audience what describes a successful entrepreneur. Secondly, she collected all the words on a white sheet. This embedded video is a clip from her keynote presentation.

After this, Mandi provided the women the chance to get up, network, and practice their pitching skills. She ran this the Carnegie way – ensuring an exciting interactive exchange.  Everyone was out of their seats and comfort zone. All of this made for a lasting impact on those around them. She closed with her statement;

“All battles are first won or lost in the mind. So as entrepreneurs it is our job to get out there to personally brand ourselves, to tell others what we do. So that we can make a difference.” Above all, she expresses that, “It is important that we all come to events like this, to encourage each other and to support each other. We need to support and give out and put women under our wing that we could mentor or to help out. It is always good to have someone to call and get advice from, but it’s also good to have someone that you are supporting, as well.”

United States Congress Recognizes Mandi Morgan, VP Consultant at Dale Carnegie of Orange County

Later during the event, Mandi Morgan was recognized by Congressman J. Luis Correa for her outstanding contributions to the recent Women’s Entrepreneur Lunch & Learn (WELL).
